Develop Your Writing Ability

by Marjorie J ~ . Filed under: How To Improve Your Writing.

As you spend time developing your writing ability, you might notice if there are areas you seem to consistently have to work at to convey your message.  Step back from your choice of words in these areas and see if you can find replacement words to convey your message more effectively.  Often just that change in the choice of words adds to the flow of your material or your story and allows it to read more easily.  That will help your reader to connect more easily also and want to read more of your work.

Remember, the moment your reader has to work at the words on the page is when the reader loses interest in what you are writing.  Be aware that if you feel stuck when you read over your work then your reader will also feel the same way.

It’s all about telling stories so your reader can get involved with something that will enhance their lives or temporarily take them away from their lives.  The words, your choice of words or combinations of words are the connectors or the disconnectors.

My goal is to show you how to connect with your reader, add to their lives and offer information they will find valuable.  Using the power of words is fun and is something you can learn how to do with ease.
